Affiliate Disclosure
A straightforward explanation of when a link on KitchDaily earns us a commission, and what that does and doesn't change about what you read here.
Table of Contents
Short version: some links on KitchDaily are Amazon affiliate links. If you buy something through one, we earn a small commission. You pay the same price either way.
Why This Page Exists
The Federal Trade Commission requires that any site earning money through affiliate links say so clearly, before you click, not buried somewhere you'd never find it. This page is that disclosure, and it applies to every post on kitchdaily.com where an affiliate link appears.
Our Amazon Associates Disclosure
KitchDaily is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by linking to Amazon.com and affiliated sites. As an Amazon Associate, we earn from qualifying purchases.
This means that when you click a link to a kitchen tool, ingredient, or piece of equipment mentioned in a recipe, and it takes you to Amazon, we may receive a small percentage of that sale if you complete your purchase. This applies to whatever you end up buying on that visit, not just the item we linked.
How an Affiliate Link Works
An affiliate link carries a tracking code that tells Amazon the referral came from KitchDaily. That's the only thing it does differently from a normal link.
- The price you see and pay is exactly the same as if you'd typed in the URL yourself
- You're not charged anything extra for using our link
- The commission comes out of Amazon's margin, not out of your pocket
- Your purchase, payment details, and account stay entirely between you and Amazon
How We Pick What to Link To
We only link to products we'd actually use, or already do use, in our own kitchen. A commission doesn't decide what gets recommended, whether a product earns us anything has no bearing on how we describe it or whether we'd suggest it to a friend.
If a tool or ingredient turns out not to hold up, we'll say so or take the link down. We're not paid by Amazon or any brand to write favorably about a specific product.
What This Doesn't Cost You
Nothing changes about your shopping experience. You're not signing up for anything, paying a membership fee, or being charged more because a link came from us. If you'd rather not use an affiliate link at all, searching for the same product directly on Amazon works exactly the same way, we just won't earn a commission on that visit.
Spotting an Affiliate Link on This Site
Affiliate links most often show up in ingredient lists, equipment recommendations, and "what you'll need" sections within a recipe. Not every outside link on KitchDaily is an affiliate link, some are just references to sources like the USDA or FDA, but any link pointing to a product on Amazon should be assumed to be one.
Updates to This Disclosure
If our affiliate relationships change, this page will be updated to reflect that, with a new date posted at the top. This disclosure works alongside our Disclaimer, Privacy Policy, and Terms & Conditions.
